DualSLIMS Space-Saving Narrow Feedthrough Connectors

CLIFF™ Electronics, leaders in the design, development and manufacture of connectors and test equipment, have extended their SLIMS feedthrough connector series with the introduction of their new DualSLIMS range. These allow customers to choose between mounting the connectors on the front of a panel for simple and fast changes in the field, or on the rear for a lower profile and flush appearance when rack mounted or side by side.
The 19 mm-wide DualSLIMs offer panel builders and system integrators the ability to mount up to 20 connectors in a 1U, 19″ rack panel, rather than 16 of Cliff™’s popular 26 mm-wide, XLR-form-factor feedthroughs.
The new DualSLIMs feedthrough connector range is available in a plastic frame with plain (⌀2.5 mm or ⌀3.2 mm) or countersunk (⌀3.2 mm) fixing holes. A metal frame version is also available finished in nickel or black with plain (⌀3.2 mm), countersunk (⌀3.2 mm), M3 or #4-40 UNC fixing holes. Panel-cut-out dimensions are 17.15 mm × 22.86 mm (0.675″ × 0.9″) with mounting hole centres centers of 29 mm.

With its high panel density and low profile, when rear mounted, the CLIFF™ Electronics DualSLIM may be used in audio, broadcast, AV and communications installations, medical, education and research, industrial control and space.
DualSLIMs can be designed-in alongside 1U rack-mounted NUCs and mini-PCs, such as the Raspberry Pi, for projects of every scale. From custom-tuned gaming machines to industrial applications, these are ideal for space-constrained, embedded or IoT systems, digital signage, media production and video conferencing.
All of Cliff™’s feedthrough connectors allow standard, off-the-shelf, connecting cables to be used for internal connectivity, simplifying and speeding up system assembly and facilitating easy repurposing of equipment.
