Quicktest

The Quicktest is ideal for electrical shops, factories, labs and service departments.
With its lid open the wires of a plugless lead can be inserted into the insulated clips. When the lid is closed, current passes to the equipment being demonstrated or tested.
A neon light shows that the connector is live and ready to use. The 13 Amp fuse (BS 1362) is easily accessible for replacement.
The connector is made of tough, safe materials. The base is phenolic moulded for insulation and rigidity. The lid is flame retardant glass filled thermo plastic.
The insulated clips are colour color coded for easy identification. The flexible cable grip will take any normal mains cable. Only one small screwdriver is needed for both the base entry and the terminal screws.
PM series cutting and bending machines for PC wires
- Adjustable steel anvils for producing a perfect, score-free bend on wires up to 1mm in diameter.
- 35 mm diameter, free-running, cutting wheels minimise wear whilst maximising efficiency and ease of use.
- Built in scales on top of machine for pitch and down lead adjustments.
- Fitted guards all around the cutting and bending wheels for protection against trapping fingers.
- Optional plug-in sensor for electronic component counting.
- Optional MD-1 motor drive.
- PM-2 is similar to PM-1 but designed to cut components from bandoliers without bending.
PM-1 (OD6645)
The machine is designed to cut to length and pre-form axial lead components ready for fitting into PC boards, where the component is parallel to the board. The components may be fed in bandolier form, (assuming a 5 mm pitch between components or multiple thereof), or loose by means of built-in chute slots.
Finished components are collected in a standard size storage box. This may be located under the cutter head or preferably in front of the machine, using the supplied metal chute under the cutters.
All adjustments are carried out on top of the machine using the built-in scales. Setting instructions are printed on the machine.
Components are cut and formed without scoring or damaging the leads. Wire links can also be rapidly produced from bandoliered wire.
General construction features an anodised anodized aluminium aluminum body with heavy steel sides. The free-running blades are 35 mm in diameter and produced in M2 high speed steel. The cutting and bending wheels are in high carbon steel and all are hardened and tempered as appropriate.
The bandolier drum supports have lugs which latch into keyhole slots on the sides of the machine. This allows the drum to sit over the machine when in use. This system takes up less space and allows a gravity feed of components.
The machine will cut and form a comfortable and effortless 40,000 components per hour. Guards are fitted all around the cutting and bending wheels for protection of fingers.
PM-2 (OD66450)
Most axial lead components are nowadays supplied in bandoliered form. There are often occasions when circuit design dictates the use of components which are not PCB mounted. It is time consuming to remove components from bandoliers by hand. PM-2 is designed to rapidly cut components out of bandolier form to produce loose axial components with straight wires.

MD-1 Motor Drive
This accessory quickly converts the manual machines to electric operation. The set speed gives an output of 23,000 to 25,000 pieces per hour. The motor drive also permits pre forming and cutting of single components by dropping them individually into the chute slots in the bandolier guides.

PC Workframe

PC workframes are designed to facilitate component loading and soldering of small batch runs of assorted printed circuits.
The different size models will hold most common Euro norm sized PCBs in one or two rows depending on the PCB dimensions and size of frame. The working angle is adjustable from vertical to 45 degrees.
Components are held in place by an antistatic foam sheet. The PCBs are retained in slots by adjustable, spring-loaded bars. The PCBs can be removed by just springing the bars, once they have been set correctly for the PCB size. This enables rapid loading and unloading in a production situation.
Specification - dimensions of the maximum sizes of PCBs which can be held in mm.
WF/0 : 1 of 230 x 230 or 2 of 110 x 280
WF/1 : 1 of 130 x 510 or 2 of 110 x 510
WF/2 : 1 of 360 x 510 or 2 of 175 x 510

Cliffume® Compact Fumes Extractor
Cliffume SFE/1 is a low cost, compact, bench-top, fumes extractor system. It is primarily designed to be used adjacent to hand soldering operations, where it will remove much of the smoke and fumes away from the operator. It can also be used in a gluing environment, (note that some solvents may attack the case and filter).
The unit needs to be located as close to the fumes source as is practical; usually 10 to 20cm. The optimum position can be found by looking for the maximum smoke collection. The stand is designed to hold the fan at an angle and assist smoke collection.
The SFE/1 contains a filter element comprising of activated charcoal filled reticulated foam. This will absorb particles down to about five microns. Filters are low cost and easily changed. Replace the filter when soiled or when fume collection is observed as significantly reduced. The case is made from antistatic ABS. The stand can be earthed for optimum static dissipation.
The UK model is supplied individually boxed and fitted with a 13A plug. Rated AC 240 V, 50 Hz, 0.2 A Max ![]()

Hand Tools
A range of high quality cutters, nippers and special uses tools. The range is manufactured for use in the electronics industries. Each tool is precision made from tempered steel for long lasting wear. All models have plastic insulated and moulded grips to provide safety and confort for the operator. The range of tools comprises of many variants for specific tasks and include:
- clean cutters for ductile wires up to 1.5 mm
- semi clean cutters for steel wire up to 1.5 mm
- long handled nippers
- sheet metal cutter for thin metal, plastics, paper etc.
- special use tools for bending, flattening and working in narrow spaces
- general purpose crimping tools
- pliers with long ,curved, needle-nose, smooth or knurled jaws
Stack Rack
The PC-01 Stack Rack is designed to hold PC boards during all stages of assembly, cleaning and testing.
The width of the rack module is easily adjusted from zero to 290 mm by sliding one side panel along the aluminium aluminum extrusion and tightening two screws. One meter lengths of extrusion are available to allow construction of racks up to 970 mm wide. The module is stackable in all directions so that racks of unlimited height and depth may be constructed.
The plastic sides are anti-static so that sensitive devices may be safely stacked in PCBs without special precautions other than earthing the rack.
We also offer the PC-01C where the side panels are made from conductive plastic for use when highly sensitive integrated circuits need protection against anti-static charges throughout all handling, up to soak test or burn-in.
