Test Leads and Instrumentation - Parts and Accessories

The Cliff™ range of test lead and instrument parts is made from high grade engineering plastics and precision metal parts. The parts comply with EN61010 section 2-031 where applicable. Parts are available for up to 10KV with various CAT ratings. All products conform to CE norms and comply with RoHS / REACH requirements.

2mm and 4mm Chassis Sockets

Our range of chassis sockets are made from high grade engineering plastics. Metal parts are precision machined and nickel, silver or gold plated. The 4mm models have a variety of tag options. The most professional models are insert moulded. Mounting handware is supplied or available to order.

 

 

 

Test Probes

Tests prods are developed to meet electrical testing requirements in a variety of applications and provide a reliable means of testing bare or loaded circuitries where a number of contact points must be accessed. They are designed for cable connection by soldering or crimping, depending on the metal inserts used. Crimping is the preferred type of connection, but it requires special tooling, so most customers buy probes ready assembled onto cable. These products are rated at 1KV CAT III. Ratings of 2, 3 or 4KV are possible on TPR/2 depending on the construction used and EN61010 norms applied. Standard colours colors are black and red. Other colours colors are subject to quantity.

  TPR/1 Test probe, 1KV CAT III for direct cable connection. Unfused and supplied with a removable tip cover.

  TPR/1C As TPR/1 but supplied unassembled, with a collet cable clamp.

• 

  TPR/1S Spiked test probe, 1KV CAT III. Unfused with a 4mm shrouded socket connection, to convert a 4mm shrouded plug into a test prod lead.

   

  TPR/1SL Lantern contact test probe, 1KV CAT III. Unfused with a 4mm shrouded socket connection to convert a 4mm shrouded plug into a test prod lead.

  TPR/2 Fused test probe, 1KV CAT III. For either a direct cable or a 4mm socket connection.

   

  TPR/2S As TPR/2 but with a spring-loaded, retractable shroud, exposing a 4mm lantern probe.

  TPR/2F A 4KV CAT II version of TPR/2.

   

  TPR/2FS As TPR/2F but with a spring-loaded, retractable shroud.

  TPR/2 Crocodile Clip Attachment For converting a TPR/2 probe into a fused crocodile clip for direct cable connection. 600V CAT III and 1KV CAT II.

P50, P75 and P160 series probes

Electrical specification: current rating 3A; contact resistance 50mΩ.

Tips: plunger is full hard beryllium copper, gold plated over nickel; barrel is brass, gold plated; spring is stainless steel.

Crocodile Clips - Insulated and Non-insulated

Our range of durable crocodile clips are made from high grade engineering plastics, with tin or nickel plated metal parts. They comply with EN61010 / CE. All clips open to a minimum of 25mm.

 

• CRC/01 Basic rating 600V CAT III, (1000V CAT II). Available in black, red, blue, green, yellow and green / yellow. 4mm socket at rear accepts shrouded plug or unshrouded probe. Tongue at front to catch small wires or conductor pins.
• CRC/01X Extended rear shroud version of CRC/01. When used, enables highest rating to be maintained. Curved jaws give good grip on busbars.
• CRC/02 Miniature crocodile clip rated 300V CAT III. Used in applcations where access is restricted, especially telecommunications. 4mm socket at rear accepts shrouded or unshrouded plugs.
• CRC/M All-metal, uninsulated crocodile clip generally used for earth testing. Curved jaws give good grip on busbars. A PVC boot in black or red is available as an option.
• CRC/BON “Bed of Nails” crocodile clip with insulation piercing point. Mostly used in USA telecoms testing. Optionally available with just the piercing point. A range of coloured colored PVC boots is available.

 

 

Test Leads

Cliff™ test leads are semi custom made to order. We can combine any of our components to produce leads to suit most applications. We have three kinds of standard, double-insulated cable, rated 1KV (PVC), 5KV and 12KV (silicone). Available in black, red, green, blue and yellow.

 

 

Special Leadsets and Assemblies

We make a large number of customised customized leads and assemblies in our UK and China factories. These can combine standard power plugs with test leads, custom made instrument plugs, and other customised customized connectors. We can insert moulded cables into special configurations. We can proof test up to 20KV, testing 100% when needed. Since many test leads are safety critical parts, we aim for zero defects in all our test leads. We comply with the relevant specifications and all parts are CE and RoHS compliant.
